Ava N. Simmons aka AVA The STEM Princess® aka Ava The STEM Ambassador™ is a native of Durham, NC and is a 13-year-old STEM Ambassador, Entrepreneur, Toy Designer, Author, and the creator of Team Genius Squad. She is the author of 3 STEM Book Series. Ava used STEM and entrepreneurial activities to help overcome her dyslexic reading challenges and improve her critical thinking and math skills. To share her learning journey and encourage others, Ava authors STEM books, designs STEM toys, and conducts peer-to-peer STEM experiments in the community.
To date, her STEM experiment videos have been viewed globally by 700,000+, and she has conducted 3,000+ STEM experiments in the community.

Ava was diagnosed with dyslexia and dysgraphia early in school. Traditional reading and writing didn't come easily — but the moment she put her hands on a science experiment, something clicked.
